The Zumbro Valley Medical Society Alliance (ZVMSA) invites all Rochester emeriti to attend their upcoming Fall Brunch.

Topic:             “Accelerating Answers to Cancer”

Speakers:      Wioletta Czaja, Ph.D, Assistant Professor DNA Repair and Genome Stability, and Gail Dennison, Director of Development & Public Relations from The Hormel Institute in Austin, MN.

Where:           Rochester Golf and Country Club
When:             Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.  

The Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota has a seven-decade history of making significant scientific discoveries aimed at improving the health of the world. For the past 20 years, The Hormel Institute has targeted its research on better ways to prevent, detect, and treat cancer. This group of highly successful research scientists is focused on determining cancer’s basic molecular mechanisms to develop new anti-cancer agents. They are accelerating answers to cancer so people can live longer, healthier lives.

ZVMSA is an organization open to the spouses of physicians, medical students and medical researchers. It was organized nearly a century ago to promote the health of the community through programs and advocacy.  In addition to nursing scholarships, early childhood reading support, and sponsorship of Science Fairs, it meets quarterly to educate members and guests on relevant topics, provide donations and socialize at the brunches.
